Privacy Policy
Stoneye Sound is built to know as little about you as possible. We run a directory and research archive, and reading it should not cost you any personal information. The sections below describe the small amount of data that passes through our systems and the control you keep over it.
Data we actually collect
There is no signup, no profile, and no comment system here, so we hold no account records. What remains is ordinary server logging: the IP address that requested a page, the browser user-agent string, the URL requested, a timestamp, and standard protocol details. These entries exist because web servers produce them automatically. We do not enrich them with location data, device fingerprints, or advertising identifiers.
Cookies and similar storage
We set no tracking cookies. Any cookie you encounter on this site is functional — for example, one that remembers a display preference — and it expires quickly. We do not use pixels, cross-site identifiers, or session reconstruction. If that ever changes, this page changes first.
Third parties
We do not sell, rent, or trade visitor data, and we do not share logs with marketing networks. A content delivery network may process requests on our behalf, which means it briefly sees the same connection details our own servers would. No analytics vendor is embedded in these pages.
What logs are used for
Retained records serve two purposes only: keeping the site online and defending it against abuse such as scraping floods, injection attempts, or denial-of-service traffic. Logs are kept for a short, fixed period and then discarded on a rolling basis. Nobody here reviews them out of curiosity.
Your rights
Even with minimal data, you can act on it. You may ask what, if anything, we hold that relates to your IP address or session, and you may ask us to delete it. Write to the address below and we will respond, normally within a few weeks. Where a request cannot be fulfilled — because the record has already aged out — we will say so plainly rather than stall.
Children
This site is not directed at anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If a parent or guardian believes a child has interacted with Stoneye Sound, contact us and we will remove whatever we can identify.
Revisions
When this policy changes, the revised version appears here with a new effective date. Material changes will be described, not buried.
Contact
Privacy questions, access requests, and deletion requests go to [email protected]. Please include enough detail for us to locate the relevant records.
